The Falun Dafa Association of New England (FDANE) plans, organizes and undertakes activities throughout the states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Such activities are designed to accomplish the following educational and other objectives:

To raise public awareness of the practice of Falun Dafa – also known as Falun Gong – a mind and body cultivation system including 5 sets of gentle exercises and meditation, and three core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

To increase public awareness of arts and traditional culture by presenting the Shen Yun Performing Arts, classical Chinese dance and classical music, in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

To promote grassroots efforts to help end the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

History

In 1995, Su Chen, introduced Falun Dafa and the 5 exercises in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She also frequently traveled from Cambridge to Worcester, Cape Code, Lexington, and Andover and introduced Falun Gong to several hundreds of Bay staters.

After Su Chen moved from Massachusetts in 1998, John Jaw, PH.D coordinated the volunteers in Massachusetts, traveling to cities and towns in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, to share the three universal principles of Falun Dafa (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance) with New Englanders. Free workshops were held weekly in public libraries, bookstores, and senior centers to teach the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises. Thousands of people learned about Falun Dafa before 2001.

Exercise teaching at the local library. The FDANE was incorporated as a Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) Educational Charity in March, 2001 to expand the reach of FDANE activities to more people in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Falun Dafa,  also known as Falun Gong, is a spiritual practice in the Buddhist tradition that espouses the core tenets of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. The practice’s most visible aspects are its five gentle exercises, including a meditation. They are highly effective ways to improve health and energy. All teachings are free.
